The second half of the autumn term begins with an INSET day on Monday November 5th, so the children return to school on Tuesday November 6th.

We have a lot planned during the half term including trips in the first week for our Jaguars, who visit Tatton Park, our Meerkats, who visit Jodrell Bank and the Tiger Cubs, who visit Delamere Forest.

The Friends’ of Acresfield are also busy in the first week of the term with their disco. This will be from 6-6.45pm for the Tiger Cubs, Meerkats and Penguins and from 7-8.00pm for the Otters, Komodo Dragons, Orangutans and Jaguars.

In the following week, our Orangutans visit Tatton Park too, linked to their work on Vikings and Anglo Saxons. Our choir also have a special occasion in November, when they perform for Children in Need, on the evening of the 16th.

What an exciting start to the half term!

Parents have a chance to catch up with their child’s learning at the end of November in our ‘Share the Learning’ event on the 26th. This is for all parents from Meerkat class through to Jaguar class. Tiger Cub parents will have their own ‘Catch up and Cake’ session at the start of December.

Our Orangutans have been working hard to prepare for an evening performance of Walk My Journey on the streets of Chester on November 29th. The children have been working with the Theatre in the Quarter and the national charity City of Sanctuary. The performance will be multi-media, involving a film and choir performance and will be performed live on Chester’s streets. A performance not to be missed.

As we move into December, Christmas events begin to dominate and in particular our Christmas Fair, which is being organised by the Friends of Acresfield. This is a major fundraiser for the school, so we look forward to seeing lots of our families enjoying the delights of the Fair and supporting all the hard work of the Friends. It starts at 6.00pm and finishes at 8.00pm.

We end the term with the Children’s Christmas performances. These will take place over two days, both at the school and for the older children at The Church of the Holy Ascension. We look forward to feeling that warm Christmas glow after the children’s performances!
