Now that we are all able to get back to normal within and beyond school, we will be launching our ACRES award from January 2022.
What is the ACRES Award?
The ACRES Award is an award that each child strives for at Acresfield each year. It is a chance for our children to be celebrated for the their commitment to improving themselves to support their personal development. Each year the children can earn a bronze, silver, gold or platinum award for their personal development within and beyond the school.
The categories are as follows:
A is for being active and adventurous
C is for community impact
R is for commitment to our three school values Respect, Resilience, Responsibility.
E is for social awareness linked to the environment
S stands for success as a result of achieving the awards.
To achieve their badges, the children have to show commitment, by completing a number of hours of activities through the year, to showt their resilience and understanding of what it means to take responsibility.
Achieve 2 activities to complete from each category spending a minimum of 25 hours in total over the school year.
Achieve 3 activities to complete from each category spending a minimum of 30 hours in total over the school year.
Achieve 4 activities to complete from each category spending a minimum of 35 hours in total over the school year.
Going above and beyond and showing a clear commitment across all four categories over the school year. Children must spend a minimum of 40 hours in total over the school year.
Examples of the type of activities that the children can partake in in order to achieve their award are outlined below –
-complete an act of kindness
-participate in a community litter pick
-complete the daily mile
learn how to play a musical instrument
